Welcome 2006!!

Yes~ It's going to be a fresh new year for me.

I looked back into last new year's resolutions, how many have I actually accomplished?

Tasks for 2005

1) To finish my Higher Diploma in Real Estate & Property Management ~ Done

I am still in the middle of it, finishing in June (perhaps?). Currently in Property Economics. Thanks to Mr Chu (SAJC)... I still remember the fundamentals of Economics pretty well. BTW, still wondering whether he's married or not..

2) To pay my taxes ~Done. I wrote to them that I have to pay for my school fees, thus no need to pay tax :p

I will write to IRAS to inform them I have a more stable job and can contribute abit to the community. At least I got this feeling I won't be charged for not paying taxes. :P

3) To get a health/accident insurance ~ Got to save money for my school fees

Need to get insured. You can't predict what will happen to you the next moment...

4) To enrol into NUS(part-time) ~ Done. I'm in my grave now.

Well, that depends on my luck... But when I were to think of the fees.... @-___-@ ...... (sian half)

5) To buy a Wacom Tablet ~ Probably for next year's resolution

Learn to draw digitally in the computer, but first, I have to format/upgrade my PC as it is getting too old. Will be installing Painter 8 into it, so need a higher memory to support.

6) Draw some comic strips ~ Probably for next year's resolution

Perhaps draft out some ideas from my job? :)

7) Learn a third language? ~ Nah.. what's the use?

Sounds incredible especially when you reached a certain age. Perhaps I need to learn Tamil as India is the next country other than China where there will be further developements. (Nin ge, na de, san de... hohoho... I am talking in Tamil... vanakum (goodbye)..) <--- learnt from Tamil evening news.

Now here's the main part~ Year 2006 Resolutions!!

1) Earn lots of $$$$

It is either a new job or a change of line~

2) Find "someone" who loves me

Tough luck. It is always a blessing to be loved than to love someone~

3) Better grades for Semester 2 & 3

No more Little Miss Nice.. I'm just going to mind my own business and you guys are going to learn things yourselves, no more spoon-feeding~ I'm tired of being nice. Frankly speaking, I prefer to do projects my own.

4) Wacom Intuos 3

Don told me this device is incredible.... Well~ I've not touched drawings for a LONG, LONG time. Rusty, rusty liao.

5) Better relationships with my auntie and family

I'm trying~ trying.... I'm trying to lessen their burden.

6) Find another place to stay

The last resolution is the worst thing I wanna have for 2006... If really bo bian then this is the last wish I want to have.

Some weird traditional packagings~

Came across some food products which amused me.

Guess what this is?

A food product from Vietnam, looks like some kind of bubblegum packaging, which is actually delicious green bean paste. But just look at the creepy photo at the right....

Like photo from tombstone, well~ it is actually the founder of the product

I was telling Lorraine that it looked like those tiger balm oil thingy.... Haha~

Another food product caught my eye too.

To "use" or "eat" one ah?

I thought it was baby powder in the first place.

Sidenote: Just in case you dunno abt the product above, it's actually titbits from Malaysia.

Young lass, Keira Knightley

Watched "Pride & Prejudice" with a friend on last Friday. It had been quite a long time eversince the last classical movie, "Titanic" <= Was that a classic?

I always love classics, because the ending is always beautiful.

I'm never in doubt when I found Keira Knightley acting as Elizabeth Bonnet, the strong-willed, intelligent yet stubborn woman, who won the heart of the very "proud" Mr Darcy.

Pride & Prejudice Movie

I looked back into our favourite starlet's past few movies and found most of her roles did not suit her.

Keira in "Pirates of Carribean" Delicious set of breasts...:p

Hollywood, special effects, not all her.....

This kind of cleavage I also can "create" mysef... haha...
Just lie down on yr side will do

The secret is revealed!!

The beautiful "Queen of England, Ginevere" in "King Arthur"

When applied the amazing Photoshop Skills...

From "airport runway " to "B cup" .. just a few clicks away...

I also want to Photoshop myself like this.. haha...

Does this "disadvantage" dampen her hopes in Hollywood? I doubt so. She is getting saucier roles than before. I just feel she may get a nomination for Oscars for her role in "Pride & Prejudice"

FT flew me aeroplane

He talks about teamwork.
He complains about other people.
He thinks his existence in workplace is not important and nobody's going to listen to him anyway even he is right.
He keeps on laughing to himself.
He is in low self-esteem
He disturbs me when I'm working and trying to focus.
He urges me to fix up the meeting.

And yet he flew me aeroplane and says he needs to go on urgent leave.

Bullshit on his teamwork, bullshit on whatever he said. He refused to say his reasons for the urgent leave.

He sounds "negative" every time, says sweeping statements and makes me mad.

I tried to emphatize his situation and listen to his grievances. Now I think I'm just being a busybody.

This time round, I'm not going to mind his business. I'm not going to be sorry when I scolded him, he jolly well deserved it.

FT, if you are reading this, feel happy because finally I'm writing about u.
Haha~

Worries~

The school has informed us that results will be out this 23 Dec 05... Hope I won't really get a heart attack after hearing the results.

Was hoping to at least get these grades bah:

Statistics (well~ that asshole lecturer) ~ B
Urban Land Use & Development ~A
Building Technology ~C
Ideas of and Approaches in Architecture ~C

(I'm not greedy..)

Not too high hopes for the last one, cos there are 800++ no.s of students taking this paper, chances for high grades are not possible. Anyway, I'll still need to prepare another few thousands to last me to pay for the next semester fees. (But I've no idea what the modules are)

**************************************************************

Had planned wisely to fully utilize the school break. Won't be going for vacation as I'm pretty broke after the Phuket & Hong Kong trip. Guess i will be spending more time with my family instead, and visit my grandma more often to make up for those times I've not visited her. She missed me so much, kept asking me when I'm coming to visit her... and even wanted to pass me some pocket money, but I kindly refused to accept for the fact I'm now working and has quite stable income.

Brother seemed to have applied for a course in SIM, in IT Management which should start next year. Sis and brother-in-law are also planning (Aug 06) to live in Florida for 2 years as he (brother-in-law)is sponsored by his company to study in US. (not confirmed yet) Hmm.. will be feeling kind of lonely without them around.

The hectic life will come back when the new year starts. I'll be running around like a mad dog again. (sigh~)

There won't be time for families, friends or even a bf, husband... Weekends will be packed with tutorials, projects and assignments. Public holidays will be used for revisions and research. Can't imagine how life's be in the next four years.. I'll probably die as an old maid. (well, at least a pretty one, hehe).

The new laptop

I was informed by Dell that the arrival will come in from 9am to 12pm on sat, thus i set my alarm to 9am to wake up and await for the delivery to my house. Honestly speaking, I was really excited of this new 'baby'.....

The parcel came at 1pm. (damn!)

It came in a big Dell package with a DELL word printed all over. I was thrilled, acknowledged the delivery without opening to check (who cares!!) Carefully opening with a penknife, I found a big nylon bag inside, quite a no. of cdroms (drivers, application cds for the laptop) and my silver 'baby'!! Without hesitation, i took it out and on the power.

Named him (assume he is male), 'Moon's baby'.. hehe..

Moon's baby is silver and with white frame at its perimeters. He is about 2.5kg, pretty light and fits in perfectly into a A4 sling bag.

'Say 'hi' to everyone!!'

He gets alittle warm when 'on' too long

Well, he's going to accompany me in another 3 years... (whether he likes me or not..)

*************************************************************

About the male terrapin. Yes, he is gone. (sob)
Hope he is fine in the place he ended himself in. His wife (another terrapin) misses him. She has not been eating right, not even moving around anymore.

*************************************************************
Went to Laneige counter to buy some of the offered items. There was a special set where u can get a full-sized Effect-C booster, eye & lip makeup remover, 2 eye shadow colours, blusher, illuminating powder, 2 full-sized lipstick and lipgloss for $88!! No kidding!! And the sales gal gave me a free bag out of good-will!! (plus other samples)

woohooo!!!

love the bag especially... my laptop can fit in perfectly..

Long time din blog!!

My exams ended last Thurs, to celebrate this day, some of my classmates gathered at Marchie, Suntec to celebrate this fateful event with sumptuous meal.

Well, Marchie’s food ain’t cheap, should have settled down with a buffet, but in order not to be a spoil-sport, I joined in. As usual, I had my salmon cream-sauced spaghetti and with tomato cube-toppings, a bottle of pink lemonade and banana with ice-cream waffle (yummy :-P)… The food’s great, so was the ambience. The seven of us shared our corny jokes and past experiences in examinations. It was a great group to be with, these people ain’t afraid to share anything “embarrassing”, haha….

***********************************************************************

Back to the exams topic. The papers not that difficult, just some of the questions from Building Technology is alittle unexpected. There are also a lot of questions on sketching & annotations, which are really time-consuming. I think I’ve sketched real badly, not using ruler because lack of time. Really hope I can still pass. I had more confidence in Urban Land Use & Development instead.

My examinations only stretches about 1 week, there are some students whose examinations took almost two weeks to complete!

***********************************************************************

Aunt told me that my pet male terrapin has disappeared!! (eversince my last examination) It was so used to crawling out from its basin and crept into those hidden corners of the house. This time round, it can’t be found anywhere. We had searched everywhere, looking under the bed, behind the closet, bending to every dark corners, looking along the corridors too, has it actually crawled out the iron door grilles and left home? I won’t mind if someone is kind enough to keep him as pet if they find him along the roads. I hope he can find a better home somewhere… (sob..)

"Siao wu gui.. where are you? Pls dun play hide & seek with me ah, can or not??"

*shrugs*

Visited the Sitex on Sat morning, 12pm. Actually I wanted be there before it opened its doors.. hehe.. abit kiasu, but I felt reluctant to wake up so early in the morning. Crowd wasn't that bad, browsed along the booths, my wish-list is to get a lap-top. (Well, my 4-year old PC is dying…) . Was interested in getting Toshiba Satelite series at first, but wasn’t pleased with the fact that I could not pay by installment. So, I dropped by Dell to take a look.

The Dell’s booth was really flooded with people. Consumers were busy laying their hands-on the latest models and I was there waiting for my chance to feel the weight of the exhibited laptops. Dell Inspirion 630m is not bad, about 2.5kg so I gave it a 2nd-thought and purchased it with 24-mths installment plan. There was a Spin and Win too, and I managed to win 1 pair of movie tickets from GV (well, the customer in-front me won a webcam!! How envious.. :( )

Just have to wait for another 2 weeks for my new lap-top to be delivered to my house.

*shrugs again*

Sis and Aunt are asking me, why do I still need a lap-top since I already have a PC which is still working fine. I told them that I need it to do research in NLB (typing in the reference instead of photocopying or writing) provided my PC is already so old, is going to die anytime. (I take great care of it and is still in great-shape, except the warranty has expired and the CD-Writer is faulty). The most important reason is perhaps I may be moving out soon, it’d be less convenient for me to carry this ‘baby’ with me anytime.

***********************************************************************

Went for Mingen’s (ex-comic fastfood member) 21st birthday, which we thought “Hey!! I thought he is over 21st year old already?”.. haha….

Shared the gift with 2 other friends. After that, I decided to actually try walking back to Tampines Bus Interchange, shouldn’t be a great problem since the place is so near, might as well save another 68 cents and loose some weight. I took the challenge. As I walked along, I noticed the roads are getting more and more deserted, street lights getting more and more dimmer, I felt alittle scared but still regained my courage to “plough” on…. I even tried hailing the taxi, but it din stop.. hehe…

Finally, I saw people (sign of relief) and reached the bus-stop with bus that can take me straight home. Little that I realized I took a ‘long’ one, took me almost 30 mins which I can actually reach the same destination by taking the shortcut (15 mins).

The Great Tampines Walk!! Suddenly, I realised how stupid I am that I din take the short-cuts
:-(

Anyway, a lesson learnt for that day.

Some NUS lecturers are such f*****s
(warning: offensive tone)

I was merely asking that whether the answers could be uploaded into the school website.

Dear Prof Chua,

I wonder if u could upload into IVLE if it is not too late for u.
Understand that u actually placed the hardcopies next to the results on board.

Thanks.

regards,
Xinhui

He replied sullenly.

Go to the notice board.

What the f***!!!

You think we part-time students are so free to go to the notice board to look at yr precious answers har???? What's so difficult to post into school website? You got copyright is it?

To think that he is the Department Head makes me puke. I hope you will continue to drop more hair and get heart disease that you crapped such corny (seriously not funny) during lectures.

After the exam, I will throw back the notes in front of your face. I'll make sure they will fly all around the place and look really dramatic like dollar notes falling from the sky.

Silly old fool, oily balded, cynical f***face!!!

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (Korean:Chinjeolhan geumjassi)

Taken from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451094/plotsummary

Plot in summary:

Lee Geum-Ja, at the age of 19, goes to prison for the murder and abduction of a child on behalf of her accomplice Mr. Baek, only to find out that she is betrayed. While in prison, she carefully prepares for her revenge by winning the hearts of her fellow inmates with her kindness, thus earning herself the nickname 'kind Ms. Geum-Ja'. Upon her release from prison after 13 years, she finally sets out to seek revenge on Baek, with the help of her former prison mates.

I can't make out whether is it a compact mirror or her handphone, but she looked extremely beautiful with those red eye-shadow

Spoilers ahead!!!

It is also called the Trilogy of the "Revenge" series by Park Chan Wook, the same director for "Old Boy" only abit milder and prettier.

Think about 'The Bride" in "Kill Bill", only abit more intelligent and classier.

Lee Youngae plays the innocent woman Geum Ja, who admitted to the crime (of kidnapping and suffocating a nine year old boy to death) she never commit in order to save her 1 year old daughter from a psychotic kidnapper (Mr Baek) who enjoys killing young children. She was put behind bars for 13 years and vowed to herself she would get back her sweet revenge in a beautiful manner.

During her imprisonment, she made friends with those who were bullied by the 'butch' (a fat woman who killed her husband and mistress and ate them, but was eventually 'killed' by Geum Ja's bleached meals for 3 years!!!), donated a kidney to a bank robber and helped to take care of an old female North Korean spy. She was called the 'Witch' and 'Goddess' as she looked kind and friendly. (she put on those red eye shadow because people says she looked too kind) In fact, she helped those people because she was expecting them to return her the favour to assist in her revenge when she was free from prison.

Although it was purely on revenge, the plot potrayed in a very dark humourous way. Some parts that are quite disturbing where Mr Baek was being tied to a chair waiting for his sentence. Instead of Geum Ja 'killing' him alone, she called upon those parents of the kidnapped childen and played those tapes that Mr Baek had tortured and "finished off" those children. There was a shocking part where Mr Baek did something to the poor child (in the video) which really made my hair stand and nearly fell off from the chair... (ain't going to tell u.. u better go and watch.. hehe...) Eventually... due to hatred, all parents took turns to kill Mr Baek, finally, the most crucial part ended with the grandmother stabbed an incredibly long scissors into the back of Mr Baek's neck.....

Also refer to
http://www.shaw.com.sg/upload/sympathyforladyvengeance/m-sympathyforladyvengeance.htm

The scenes may look gross from how I described, but they are very masterly played.. in fact, very violently beautiful.

Some parts which I think are what they are:

1) Guem Ja's daughter, Jenny is also Mr Baek's child. That's the reason why he did not kill her but sent her to the orphange and was adopted by the Australian family.

2) Guem Ja killed the poor dog bought on the streets because she wants to learn how to fire in close range from her beautiful new gun custom-made for her.

3) Mr Baek hates children because he is sterile, but it can be a lie told by Guem Ja because she wants to hide the truth.

4) The white mist found in Guem Ja's apartment is actually the ghost of the boy who wants to wake Jenny up to inform her that her mommy is coming back home, not any gas leak... hehehe....

5) The ghost of the dead boy who suddenly "grew up" in front of Guem Ja still left me scratching my head.. ( I dun quite understand the meaning...)

Anyway, go catch it!!

Straight is BORING....

I've made up my mind to go for perming.. although I know my hair texture isn't suitable for perms. I've tried perms 2 years ago...

Dunno why... I dun like this pathetic looking face. Reminds me of the Korean actress from "Summer Scent"... arghh.... does it make u puke? So unlike me...

Back then, ceramic perm is a craze. Cost abt $300++... I did my curls @ $130++ (I think so bah..) It wasn't ceramic perm, was the traditional type. Thus the result was quite damaging to my hair.

Rebonded back after sometime. I looked terribly old with curls. But having curly hair has its advantages... you dun need to comb yr hair with comb... just use yr fingers.

Yeap, after rebonding... how much can u go? Cut them all off!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if it is blur. I have yet to master using the "anti-flash" without shaking the camera

So I've waited for my hair to grow again. The same routine goes on, grow long, rebond, perm, cut short.

My latest hairstyle...

How's it? Digital perm for $185. Drop me a comment!!

It's Children's Day!!

Well, I ain't a child anymore, thus it doesn't concern me. But why isn't there a holiday for us?

Suffered from a heat stroke and badly burnt lips after the fire drill event held on Fri. I remembered applying sun-screen on my face but simply forgot to put on some lip balm on the lips. My lips felt so puffy and dry now, hope it won't end up looking swollen on Monday.
*Sexy, thick, pouty "sausages" for Sale!!! :p

As for the fire drill, I'm so glad that it turned out pretty well. The attendance is 492, abt 33% of tenants took part, including our management team. Thanks for all, esp, Felix, Mr Tay, Mktg team, PICO for their kindest help to assist in the event. I spent almost 3 mths doing the logistics and updating of the floor registers, so glad that all efforts had been paid off.

After the hard day's work, I will be rushing for class and assignments as usual.... what a life..

Some Flashbacks

Each night, travelling the MRT alone made me think of him. Those days he would actually fetch me home from school with his Mistubishi Colt. But it was around 1 year ago where he last fetched me from school, "Well, the MRT's quite safe, I'm pretty tired after tuitioning, so why dun you try to get home yourself.."

I broke up with him since then. I could not believe my ears when he uttered such words to me. It was not all, he was totally defensive for his and his mother's doing, accusing me of my mistakes which I had already apologised. He kept on digging out the history of my evil deeds done on him and claimed that I had hurt him badly. But didn't he realised that he was wrong too in showing my sms to his mother?

Well, I believe as time goes by, I will soon forget all about him... meantime, my focus is all in my studies.
Which of the following is a real gal?
