Skin Care & Skin Problems

Had a pimple outbreak recently, I guess it was due to PMS.

Does anyone believe in having a very good facial that can help to prevent such problems? Frankly speaking, facial is good when you are lazy to take care of yr skin. Just book a time with the salon, pay for the service, present yr face to them and enjoy two hours session while they wash, scrub and massage on it.... Most of the time, you never know what kind of stuff they applied on yr face, whether they washed it clean for you (especially they are so busy doing with multi-tasking on other clients next to you) or whether the massage is good enough for you. In fact most of the time, I was there lying on the cold bed with just a miserable thin layer of towel wrapped around me. (I really hated waiting).

Squeezing the zits from your face is quite an enjoyable process provided if the person knows how to do it so your face wont be peppered with scars and reddish marks. I do not really have outbreak that often, but the recent visit to MTM, they used a microscopic device to test on my skin, found out that actually I have alot of clogged pores. Reasons can be due to inproper cleansing, did not do regular maintenance of unclogging the pores (which means I did not squeeze out the zits), enlarged pores (due to additional built-up stuck inside the pores).... Damn... I was thinking what the hell had I been paying for the last few years for the facial treatments!!

I am not trying to promote on MTM's services, but their service is really good!! (of course, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys for other cheap facials around) They explained to me that what i 'suffered' is dehydration as the clogged pores did not allow the good nutrients to be absorbed into my skin, leading to dryness and dull looking complexion. Thus they recommended a very expensive facial called "Moisture Penetration"... Wow... sounds chim. They even drew out some 'construction drawings' on how my zits hidden underneath to be removed, then refine the pores to make them smaller... I must say, sounded quite impressive at first. So I decided to try on their facial, for just 1 time.

This time round, I wasn't lying on any cold bed, in fact they have very nice warm blanket!! The beautician even explained what she was doing... the steps were:

1) using the cleansing milk on my skin, neck shoulders
2) Scrubbing off the dead skin cells
3) Pouring the essence to soften the skin layer <-- guess what is it for?
4) Turn on the steamer and channelled the evaporated water vapour onto my face. I even asked her how many degrees celcius was the steam. Luckily it wsn't 100.
5) Press out all the zits from my face. Ouch!!! The purpose of the essence is to soften the pores so zits can come out easily
6) Put on the cold compression lotion <-- to lessen the red marks
7) Masking ~~ Ah... soothing... the same cold hydration mask I bought

Guess how much I paid for this facial.... (heartache!!) I din take up the package in the end as it is way-off my budget. I might as well declare bankrupt.

To treat my zits which have suddenly emerged out all at 1 time, I went to the Biotherm counter at Seiyu Bugis to buy this acne gel which cost me $38. I've tried the sample product from Her World before and trust me.. this acne gel is the best thing in the world.... The counter gal even gave me a free sample of their moisturing toner.. When applied on my skin~~ Ah~~ Heavenly feeling~~~

I am still jumping from 1 product to another... :P

Having PMS now....

But I will try not to:

1) Raise my voice
2) Put on a black face
3) Think too much of Jay
4) Eat too much
5) Argue with stupid people

I wish to be busy....

Yeh, u may think i am mad. Who wants to be busy? Everyone wants be be eng-eng cheng-cheng to wait time goes by... But when i am starting to be quite free (well apparently I am revising for my exams next Monday, but no mood to study now), I will start to think of all the unhappy events that happened a few years back.

9 years ago, I was still a naive JC girl. I entered this JC, thinking that perhaps the end route will be a university course for me. I would think that even I were to do badly for the Prelims, my results will eventually allow me to enter the university. But I was wrong. Competition was high, and everyone was trying to get into the 2 universities. I wasn't scoring too badly, din fail any subjects, anyway din score at least a 'B' either. Thus, I failed to enter into eventually.

Well, that daunts me for years. Even though I managed to get into the part-time U now, I still have the phobia of taking exams in the hall.... The very dis-heartening part is whenmy ex-JC mates were to meet up, they will be talking abt grades, lecturers, certificates, jobs, careers... It is like doing a 'show-hand' on what they acheived in the past. I really felt very inferior or even jealous. Inferior not because I did not do well for my 'A' level, but it is I did not try my best that time. If I have put in extra 10 times effort, I would have even scored higher than they have then. Anyway, it's all over. I guess the effort I have to put in is 'now'.

The next thing that daunted me tonight was my parents' marriage. Sadly, it ended in a 'storm', during my JC years. My mom left the family, which she thinks the outside world will be better for her. Me & my siblings (Elder sis & younger bro) chose to be with our father instead. But we hated our father, bec of what he did to Mom. If he had ever thought for our family, my mom would not have left us. Anyway, it's all over. Nothing can be helped and i still think this is the best solution. I have no idea where are they now, I guess each of them have started their own families, their new lives. Have they forgotten about us? Do they think of us, whether we are properly clothed, fed before they go to sleep?

Unwilling to live with our irresponsible father, we chose to live with our grandmother and auntie instead. Of course, sometimes you may feel u get differential treatments. I really felt sorry for my brother because he is the most greatly affected sibling among us from this. He was only in Sec 2 when my parents' marriage failed. There were times when I was felt even more sorry and 'proud' of myself. I paid for my own fees when in Poly, luckily with the aid of bursaries. I also tried earning some extra income by giving tuition after school. Times were tough, but we survived. My sis completed her degree in NTU and my grandma was thrilled that time when she went for her graduation ceremony. My brother graduated from SP with *ahem* not so good grades bec of his slacking attitude.But at least he passed(luckily). As for me, I was pleased with my grades too. :)

With so many setbacks, the only hope is to move on.

Customs officials said yesterday that they were concerned when Gregory Allan Despres crossed the border from Canada into Maine on April 25 carrying a cache of weapons, as well as a chainsaw that appeared to be splattered with blood, and asserting that he worked for the president.

But US Representative Stephen F. Lynch, a South Boston Democrat, criticized customs' handling of Depres.

''If we've got that kind of evidence in our possession and yet we're not taking the necessary steps to prevent someone like that from entering the country, then I guess you have to ask what else are we doing out there in terms of trying to gather other evidence and protect the country against threats on the border," he said.

While conceding that the case involved bizarre circumstances that may not arise again soon, Lynch said it raises questions about ''whether all this investment in border security is really paying off."

Jayson Ahern, assistant commissioner for field operations for US Customs and Border Protection, insisted yesterday that the border officers did exactly what they were supposed to do.

''Certainly, there was a lot of behavior that raised concerns by our inspectors," said Ahern, confirming allegations in court records that Despres said he was a Marine sergeant who worked for the president of the United States and was waiting for a helicopter. ''He certainly did demonstrate bizarre behavior, but that's not illegal," Ahern said.

When Despres arrived at the Calais, Maine, border about 7:30 a.m. on April 25, carrying the chainsaw, a homemade sword, a hatchet, brass knuckles, and pepper spray, inspectors held him for two hours while they checked various databases and watch lists and took his fingerprints, Ahern said.

Customs inspectors also called in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Calais police and determined that there were no outstanding warrants for Despres, he said.

The inspectors discovered that Despres was supposed to appear in a New Brunswick courtroom that day to be sentenced on charges that he had assaulted and threatened the nephew of one of his neighbors, according to Ahern.

Still, Ahern said, customs inspectors were advised by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that they couldn't take action against Despres for failing to appear in court because ''it was still early in the morning" and that it was possible Despres could appear in court later that day.

I'm too stressed even to think of it!!

AHHHHHHH... so stressed. The best thing is not to go out at all. Stay at home & rot..... I know I am easily tempted to buy things & I can't resist those seductions of cheap thrills & expensive gadgets. I think I shall lock myself at home during the weekends.

But I'll definitely come out for dinner if the meal is on you.. (wink*)

Trying to become more beautiful each day...

Walked by Centrepoint one day on my way to class at Starhub centre, saw some girls giving out flyers at MTM. Something caught my eye, "Experience the instant effects from our collagen eye masks. Just sms this number to have a free trial.."

My itchy finger pressed the number and sent out the sms for the free try-out.

I received a phonecall abt my free trial on the collagen eye mask. So, I visited their care centre at Wheelock Place to experience the challenge. The beautician said that she will try only one eye as she wanted me to see the difference between the 2... Thus after applying, I was asked to wait for another 45min for the mask to dry up.

After the mask was dry, the beautician carefully peeled off and asked me to see the difference. It is really amazing!! The fine lines are gone and looked less puffy as compared to the other eye. But judging from its hefty sum, I dun think I have the ability to buy. Plus, the effect can only last for a few hours...
